Vision Correction in Busan: How the Busan Clinic Works With BGSS Seoul

What it means to be treated in Busan as part of the BGSS Eye Clinic network

Many international patients assume the best eye clinics in Korea are all in Seoul. BGSS Eye Clinic actually began in Busan, in 1997, and the Busan clinic in Seomyeon remains a full part of the BGSS network. This article explains what that means for you as a patient.

One network, two cities

The Busan clinic and BGSS Eye Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul share clinical protocols developed by founder Dr. Jong-Ho Lee over nearly three decades. In practice, this means consistent pre-operative testing, the same approach to deciding which procedure suits your eyes, and follow-up care that can continue if you move between cities during your trip.

Procedures available in Busan

Our Busan team performs SMILE Pro, SMILE LASIK, LASIK, LASEK, ICL and cataract surgery. Every treatment plan begins with a comprehensive eye exam.

ICL in Busan

ICL is a lens implanted inside the eye, often recommended for high myopia or thin corneas. BGSS's ICL program is led by Dr. Lee, Korea's first certified ICL instructor. If you are researching the procedure, our sister site explains what ICL surgery involves and typical ICL prices in Korea. For Busan pricing, see ICL surgery cost in Busan.

Travelling between Busan and Seoul

The KTX train connects Busan and Seoul in under three hours, so some patients have their consultation in one city and spend part of their recovery in the other. If you plan to do this, tell our team in advance so your follow-up can be arranged. The Seoul clinic's international patients page covers what to expect there.

Planning your stay

For independent travel advice, Gangnam.Health has helpful guides on choosing a foreign-friendly eye clinic in Korea and hotels to stay in after eye surgery. Our own foreigner-friendly clinic page explains the support we offer in Busan.

Booking

Appointments are by reservation only. Send us your prescription and travel dates by WhatsApp or KakaoTalk and we will suggest a schedule. Your final recommendation will depend on the results of your eye exam.
