Astigmatism, explained in one minute
Astigmatism happens when the cornea or lens is shaped more like a rugby ball than a football, so light focuses at more than one point. Vision is blurred or stretched at all distances, often with glare at night.

Why BGSS places toric lenses vertically

What is the best surgery for astigmatism?

What is V-Toric ICL?
A BGSS technique that places a toric ICL vertically, where there is more space, to keep it stable. In 230 eyes, 99% stayed in position and about 1% needed repositioning.

In a BGSS study of 49 SMILE Pro patients, 96% had residual astigmatism within 0.5 dioptres.
Can astigmatism come back?
